Hi.

I just swapped in a TBI 350 into my 89RS. (Had 305 TBI before).
My tranny feels like it is slipping through the gears from time to time, and it vibrates sometimes, until i let up on the gas, then if i depress it again, the vibration isn't there. (torque converter?) I also don't seem to get many shifing problems at WOT.

The one other problem I've been having is that at high rpm's in 4th gear (WOT), it will climb to about 4-4500 rpm, then it will just slip at rev really high, like it just popped into neutral. Just let off the gas, and put my foot down again, and it is good. Also have the problem when going to WOT from a 60mph + roll.

Any ideas guys?

 

#1 Check your fluid level. I would get your trans fluid flushed and your filter changed. Don't just drop the pan, go take it to some shop that offers a trans flush with a T-Tech or something similar. Then go from there.

 

bad adjusted cable?

pull the tranny dipstick out n smell it...

if it smells burned, mnaybe some internal...

also as suggested, check the fliud level
