Coan vs. Yank
Coan vs. Yank
Well, I've heard nothing bad about either of these converters, only a lot of good praise for each. I will need one for a 700R4 most likely. What makes the Yank so much more expensive (around 300 dollars I think)? I have around 440-450 HP, and plan on using a 100 shot or so. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

An aftermarket TC that has TC lockup is usually more expensive than a non-lockup TC. Does the Coan have lockup? I am pretty sure the Yank does.

None!
However, it will be softer on your transmission and engine when you aren't racing. A TC without lockup will just keep spinning around therefore generating a whole lot more heat than a lock-up converter. So, if the Coan TC has a less effective lockup, than it will generate more heat under normal driving conditions than the Yank TC or Vig TC (freeway driving or higher speedzones like 40mph and up).
I ask for a second opinion on this, as I am no TC guru! I am Just some guy
