If all you want is a ring and pinion, the splines don't matter, because the 26 or 28 count ones aren't on the ring or the pinion.
7.5" and 7.625" are the same thing. I have no clue why they changed what they are calling them.
Don't buy that stuff from the dealer. Unless of course you just like paying 50% or more above what you can get them for someplace else.
Here's a place I often use.

Incidentally, your motor RPO is LH0 (zero), not LHO (letter "O")

like rb said the 26/28 spline deal is for the axles not the gear set. i ithnk gm did the 7.5/7.62 thing to make you think the 7.62 was a stronger rear, and to confuse people that needed to order parts.

thank YOU SO MUCH!!!
so let me get this right . lol
7.5 and 7.625... i kinda didnt think it was much bigger.. but i wanted to make sure it spun freely in the housing but common sense (which i lack when im desperate for parts), tells ya that when its .5 and .625 theres not much difference at all. .625 = 5/8.. sorry im a lil slow.. lol
i Seriously do appreciate the help
thank U guys
PS>> i had no idea that it was LH zero lol .. i gotta fix that one
