I have a 84 z28 with a 305 auto, i need to know what rear end i have and what tranny, i am pretty sure its a 700r4 but want to be positive before i orfer my transgo shift kit, also what kinda fluide does this tranny take and how much fluide does it need? thanks to all that can help.

 

I have a 84 F41 camaro, not a z28 tho....That's totally unrelated, however. You have a 700R4

 

your tranny will need mercon dextron-III tranny fluid. if its a 700r4 then you will need 4.7 quarts.

 

alright i just wanted ot be sure it was a 700r4 before i got my shift kit, and about 5 qaurts ok, but what about the rear end? i belive its the 7.5" 10 bolt correct?

oh and thanks for the help guys, and dude thats sweet that you have a f41, this car handles so well with that suspension package, i dont i'm gonna change any of it, maybe just swap all the bushing i can to polly.

 

Should be a 7.5". Mine is. Also, when you change the bushings, consider a new rear sway bar, on my 85 TA it came with a larger bar, and when i replaced it with a spohn sway bar, i put the TA one on my camaro, it helped a lot in the rear.
