My dad has a 4 cylinder, 4spd 83 Camaro. I beleive the transmission is a saginaw. I came across a nice 350,
stats.
Block: .040 350
Heads: 3973487 used on 71-72 350 LT1, 75cc chamber that have been hoged out with 2.02 intake valves, and 1.6 exhaust valves. Alot of porting done.
Cam: "whats in it now" CS1062R 2200-5700 RPM Range, 304/287 Adv Dur, @.050 220/231, Lobe Sep 110, Lift .468/.480
it has a Holley Aluminum Contendor intake on it.

Would this Transmission from the 4cylinder bolt up to the 350, and would it hold the power from this V8? I am looking to build a toy, and can't find a decent bodied thirdgen around here for a decent price, and we already have one in the family, so why not use it. Then if this transmission won't bolt up, or hold up, since this is an 83 Camaro, it has doesn't have a hydralic clutch setup, it has the linkage and all deal.
All I want is a toy, is that too hard to accomplish?

what about it won't work, is the bellhousing different? or is it that it won't hold the power.

It should fit, Ive blown up enough saginaws that came from 4cly cars to know they bolt up to a v8 bellhousing and they have the same spline count as the clutch in my 76 pu. Last 4 speed sag I used lasted 2 days. The problem is if you have a decent rear end ratio 1st gear is usless let off clutch shift to second at least with 3.73's, that when I figured out id be better off using my munccie HD 3.
