T56 Flywheel

Will the RAM "Small and big Chevy, internal balance, 168 tooth" flywheel, Summit PN RAM-1501 fit on my 1 piece RMS engine for the T56 swap?

Do I have to have the flywheel balanced with the engine, or will it just bolt up? Sorry, I've never delved into my tranny before.

Do yourself a favor and just buy a brand new 1993 Z-28 six-speed LT-1 flywheel or find a used one in good shape and have it surfaced.

I bought a new GM flywheel when I put my six-speed in a couple of years ago.

Yes, that should work fine. The flywheel should be neutral balance, so it doesn't need to be balanced at all, let alone with the engine. The only time balance would be a factor would be some 383s and 400s.

I don't think it will, I believe that that flywheel is for a 2pc rear main. I believe 1510 is the one for a 1pc rear main.

The bolt pattern is different.

Yeah, that's the topic that needs to be addressed. Is it for a 2-piece or 1-piece rear main.

Also, you need a 153 tooth flywheel. A 168 won't fit inside the T56 bellhousing.

Man, why didn't that catch my eye the first time. No, this flywheel won't work.
