Need Help a/s/a/p with TV Cable probs
I've got a 700R4 out of an 85 IROC, behind my 400sbc..The trans I bought used, prev owner states it was modified with a shift improver kit, vette servo & bigger pump..
I bought the BowTie Overdrives TV-Made EZ kit to adapt the tv cable to my carb. It is an edelbrock 750 Performer. Only thing is I used the stock cable, b/c after tranny was in, I couldnt get to the cable to switch. So I modified the cable end with a dremel to fit in the new bracket.
Now, I drive the car, and she shifts soft & a little late.. I barely feel it shift into OD on the highway.. The 2-3 shift seems to be the biggest problem. Just doesnt feel right.. Feels overextended, like when it should shift, it kinda hangs there a second or two too long under part-throttle cruising.. Under WOT, it shifts ok. But I am afraid of burning the cltches..
Any Ideas??

Also, I opened the throttle linkage all the way, and there is no slack in the cable, so it is pulling all the way..
And when I checked my trans fluid on the dipstick, it isnt red like it should be.. It looks almost like water..Very clear.. no air bubbles or foaming...
