700r4 Q

I am going to pick up a 700 for my 85 Z. the question is how can I tell that tranny is the right one for my car?

The 700R4 will work with any small block chevy motor. They all bolt up the same, so for example if you have a stock 700R4 on say a stock 305 but you want to put a 400 in, the same stock 700R4 will work with the 400!!!

Itll be easier if you get one of the pre 90 trans. Theyll have a cable in the tailshaft instead of the wireing of the later trans.

Make sure it has the torque arm mount on the tailshaft housing, which is an F-body specific feature.
