Where to buy a Tremec
Where to buy a Tremec
As the questions states...Where is the best place to buy one?
I am so tired of breaking the T-5 and do not want to give up the HP or the manual...so this is about my only option. I considered a T-56, but really do not need the 6th gear.
Thanks

I bought mine from Forte's.

Came as a complete thirdgen kit with just about everything required for the swap.
Been very happy with it.

I have a semi broken 3550 that I'm selling. Cheep too!
It was driven about 30 miles with no fluid (had to get home) and whines in 1st, 2nd, 3rd and ,5th. The whine is the same sound of reverse. Why it lost it's fluid, I don't know because I've never seen a puddle or anything. It still shifts fine though. I'm parting with it for $300 (+S&H which is like $80).
It comes with all of the adaptor plates needed plus an extra drive shaft with the HD yolk.
Also thrown in is a Hurst Billet Plus Shifter with a Hurst Brushed aluminum t-handle w/button. So basicly, the tranny is 200 and the shifter is 100.
I'm not quite sure how much it would cost to fix or what parts you would need to do it yourself. i was going to do just that but now I don't have the space to keep it.
PM me if you're interested in a project tranny as I will be junking it this weekend.
PS If anybody has any ideas as to what is wrong with it, feel free to chime in
