i need serious help please

hey i have an 82 z28 i put a 305 motor in it and a 700r4 trans out of an 83 caprice i have the motor and tranny in the car but i went to bolt up the cross member and the holes that bolt the cross member up do not line up now it is like the cross member is hiting the trans pan or something i have thought about just puting it where i need it and drilling new holes but then i would have to cut out a hole in the frame to put a nut on the back side of the bolt because there is no way to get a nut on the backside so anyway has anyone ever ran into this problem or have any suggestions on how i might fix this cause im not crazy about drilling and cutting on the frame thanks for any help if you need more info let me know

I used the '86 crossmember. The front two holes on the crossmember fit in the '82 back two holes. I drilled the frame to match the back two holes in the crossmember. There was a drain hole at the back of the frame members that I punched open enough to slide a nut up to the new holes.
