Flex plate SWAP...... Easiest way..?

Flex plate SWAP...... Easiest way..?
Well i was postin in the general tech i had a bad tickin noise, and it turned out to be a crack in my flex plate as far as what i can see.... and its not just one crack their r 4 cracks i can see just from looking under the car so this obviously needs to be changed......
im not really too familiar with removing trannys so i need some advice or links on how to change the flex plate or remove the tranny or what not..... thx guys ur input will greatly appreciated.... cya

Take 2 of the trans bolts out, and replace them with about 4-5" ones.... take the trans loose from the mount, the cooler lines off, the shift linkage off, remove the torque converter bolts, support the trans on a floor jack with a large piece of wood or something under the pan, remove the crossmember, remove the rest of the trans bolts, slide the trans back.... should give you enough room to get a box-end wrench in there.
flexplate removal
In addition to RB83L69's instructions, be sure to mark the old plate before removing the last bolt on the crank flange and mark the new plate at the same place. The flange bolts are not evenly spaced, and marking the flexplate will save a lot of trouble. You
may have to buy a special length wrench to reach those flange bolts.
I don't remember the size you will need, but I can tell you that the bolts will be twice as tight as you think they need to be.
