what are limited slip lube requirements?
I am installing a 1985/86 borg warner 3.73 limited slip axle. My owner's manual requires a special lube GM part number 1050010 for limited slip. What is this? I have heard of using an additive to regular GL-5 80/90 Lube. The GL-5 lube I have says it is for conventional and limited slip axles. Any advice, references or recomendations on this?

It's a friction modifier to help the posi plates slip more smoothly in turns.
If you use AMSOIL Series 2000 75W-90 gear lube you don't have to worry about the additive - it's already in there. Their older formulas of 75W-90 & 80W-90 didn't require the additive the majority of the time. If you get noise in corners, put in the additive.
