i have no idea how many quarts my 700r4 holds with converter i am new with an auto so i wanted to know after i drop the pan and change the filter how many quarts should i put back in the tranny.

If all you're doing is taking a running trans and dropping the pan, it's around 4-5 quarts.

If you had a brand-new trans and converter, it would take around 11 quarts.

Do your work; add about 2 quarts; start the motor and add about 2 more; check and top off.
