while i have yet to add a transgo to my tranny, in the camaro, i can tell you this, i have done a transgo in my 99 f150's tranny 3 times its easy as pie, and i have done them in freinds cars. I have not done one in a 700r4 yet but i dought its hard. the big "wheel" looking thing loks to me to be a accumulaor piston, but i'm not sure as i have never opened a 700r4 up before.

Looks like the instructions have improved! The big wheel like thing is the 2/4 band apply servo, which also doubles up as the 3rd gear accumulator. IOW: the 'Vette servo.
When I installed one I first went through the parts and the instructions until I was familar with it all. I also had the factory service manual to help out.
I then marked up the instructions with the parts & changes to be made. This included items such as full manual vs auto shifting, which boost valve, what year trans, which holes to drill/plug. I X'd out areas that I did not require.
Then I grabbed a bunch of plastic sandwhich baggies and some labels. I went through the instructions and for each step I put those parts into a baggie and labeled it with the step letter. Some I also labeled as to what the parts actually were. There will also be parts left over.
Once in the garage it was just a matter of going through the steps, grabbing the correct bag of parts and doing that step. Check marked it off and did the next step.
Actually saved me too: as I completed all of the steps I noticed a baggie of parts left in the box. Opps, lets put this part in too, missed a step. . . First time in a tranny past the filter.
Oh, and put a drain plug in the pan too. You will thank yourself later. . .
RBob.
