84 2.8 camaro auto transmission
I've got a 84 sport coupe with the wonderfull 2.8 v6
auto and i was wondering how do i tell if I have a 700r4 if so is that particular model compatable with a v8. thanks for any help guys.

Car: 1989 Iroc-Z
Engine: 5.7L TPI
Transmission: 4 Spd Auto
If you still have the RPO codes in your center console you can run those through the RPO decoder on the site and it should tell you which one you have.
As far as I know I think that the 700r4 was the only 4 spd auto available. In the tech data section here it says that all automatics in 1984 were 700r4s.
As far as using it for a v8 it should work but im not sure which exact parts would need to be changed.
