hey,
i have an 85 TA with a 9 bolt!
do you guys know what other rear ends fbodies came with?
im lookin for an easily interchangable 8.2 or 8.5, that came out of an fbody so i can keep the shock mounts, sway, discs, etc.
also, 5 speeds is too much, im thinkin 4 and muncie, interchangablity for a muncie into a third gen? do-able or insane?
also, a quick review of the muncies, ive noticed m20-m22 blah blah and close, wide ratio, best setup for a street/strip car.
Thanks.

3rd gens came with 10-bolts (vast majority), 9-bolts (not nearly as many), and Dana 44 (pretty rare).
If you want an 8.2 or 8.5, your only choice is to fab up the mounts or go with a custom-fabricated 4-link or back-halved ladder bar. Buying a custom-made 12-bolt or 9-inch would probably end up costing you less, would be a lot less hassle, and would be stronger.
