Transmissions and Drivetrain Need help with your trans? Problems with your axle?

A T-5 with 3.42's is like a T-56 with 3.73's.

A T-5 with 3.42's is like a T-56 with 3.73's.

I did the final drive calulations for a T-5 and T-56 (rear gear x trans gear) and they are virtually identical when the T-56 is a stage higher. What I mean by that is, 2.95 first gear in the T-5 x 3.42 is 10.08, and the T-56's first gear 2.68 x 3.73 is also 10.something. It seems like you need a stage higher with the T-56 like this:
T-56 with a 3.42 rear= T-5 withy a 3.08
Figures that's why the T-56 come stock with 3.42
T-56 with a 3.73 rear= T-5 with a 3.42 rear
T-56 with a 4.11 rear= T-5 with a 3.73

...and so on.

So if 4.11 are about the limit for performance on the T-56 then 3.73 would be the limit on the T-5.

I am only talking about the first four gears on both.
