S10 700r4
I found a used transmission in a wrecking yard out of a S10, I am waiting for a call back on what year it is. I'm I wasting my time with this? My car is an 86 2.8 700R4. Can I swap the brackets and speedometer gear to make it work. I know about the torque bar, can the trans. mount be removed for it. Sorry for all the ? but this is the first time for a major part change. My Dad is making me do most of the leg work on this so any help will be apreciated. Thanks Andy

You may be able to swap the extension housings between the transmissions to retain the torque arm mount; as long as they're the same overall length.
Other than that, it should bolt right in.

Make sure the S10 has a 2.8 V-6 in it. A trans from a 4.3 V-6 won't bolt to your 2.8L.
