Gears for a moron

I was wondering if http://www.fbodymotorsports.com/inc/...l?v=1&pid=2057 was a good deal and if anyone knew if it would work in the rear end of a 91 firebird, 6cyl automatic? Thanks for any help.

They should work but you may need to get a new carrier?? My 2.77s came with a 2 series carrier and I had to get a 3 series carrier to use my 3.27s

As far as I know my car is a 3 series carrier but I'm not sure. After reading the production numbers I know that I got 3.24 in the rear now so I don't know if that means I actually have a 3 series carrier or not.

You must mean 3.23. If it even starts with a 3, then you have a 3-series carrier. The 3.73's will work. But $239 is pretty steep...I sent you a PM for a much better deal

that isn't correct, a 3:08 would be 2 series. there are also gears made to make up for the differant carrier sizes

I could of sworn that 3.08's were 3-series Oh well, were talking about 3.23's anyway. Also, the only companies that make 3-series gears for the 2-series carrier are Richmond and Precision Gear. Richmonds will whine, but you'll have a better chance of the gears being quiet with the Precision gears. I've found that anytime you use one of these"custom" gear sets, there is a good chance they will whine. So the best way to do this swap would be to get a 3-series carrier, and the correct GM gears.

You can install spacers also, to make the gears work on a 2 series carrier.
