Need help with governor springs
Hello,
My stock LB9 TPI is shifting at about 5200 RPM 1-2, and I would like to change that by changing governor springs.
I originally asked about the B&M Governor Recal. Kit, but nobody in town has one in stock. I'd like to hit the track for Friday.
Spoke to the local tranny shop, they said they could give/sell me some springs to fool around with myself. Are different springs all I need to change my shift points?(I already have adjusted TV cable to normal).
I don't know anything about the springs, would anyone have info/ideas on exactly what weight or color of springs I should need to change to around 4700-4800 1-2 upshift? Will the guys at the shop have some idea what springs I would need to achieve this?
Thanks,
-Dustin

You could try Extreme Transmission on 8th Street. They should be able to answer your questions. They do shift kits and anything tranny related.

Andy are you helping me on EVERYTHING on my car or what?
I know the guy who runs All-O-Matic, so I stopped by there today, instead of buying the $80 B&M Kit, he gave me a few springs and weights free to try myself.
My only question now is, does anybody know the stock springs/weights in the 700R4? He said to try the lightest spring first, and swap for a heavier spring. He figured the light spring would be about a 1 lb/in(?) spring, and I have a 2 lb/in and a 3 lb/in to try.
