9inch fresh out of a killed m******

One of my new college buddies put a piston through the hood of his stang pushen 700 horse or something crazy like that. Not after aquiring 12 tickets 9 of which at once, needless to say he gave up on the car. And I asked him what is he doing with the pieces and asked him about the rear. Its got 4.11's and survived his high output motor. I am going to look at it this weekend but for 200bux I see this as a steal and a cure to my concerns for my rear especially when I drop in my 350. Is this a wise decision, could i do it myself? 17 novice mechanic with connections, and what setbacks am i going to encounter?

and he said he has 12" rotors, and 6 piston calipers on there, so i know i have to get a new master cylinder and brake booster, is there anything i am missing. and what about the e brake?

And on another note he said something about a zf 6 speed in the car. A 6 speed tranny is out of my price range but would that even fit in my car? /im not fimiliar with zf products

thanks for the help

I don't think the mounts are the same, places like Currie Enterprises make 9-inch housings with the shock and LCA mounts already welded on.

You're going to need to do some fabrication to fit. I doubt it's the right width to begin with, so you'll need new axle tubes and axles. You'll need to weld on spring perches and LCA mounts, and you'll need to weld a torque arm mount on it. Your stock driveshaft probably won't work, so you'll need to get a new one made. The plumbing for the brakes is likely different too, so you'll need to deal with that, and you'll probably need an adjustable proportioning valve to get them to work as well as they should. Oh, and the parking brakes will be different too, so you'll have to figure that out too.

You could easily end up paying another $1000 to take advantage of your $200 "deal".

lol yeah after 3 hours of more in depth research i have found it will be cheaper and easier to buy a moser or currie bolt in 9". the amount of fabrication i would have to do turns out to be insane. i just jumped the gun when i heard rear end and 200bux in the same sentence. sorry for infecting you all with my stupidity
