OK, heres the basis. I recently put in my used 700R4 into my new 82 Camaro Berlinetta that had the 200 Metric, that of course, went bad. Anyways, IK did the swap, hooked up my kickdown cable and got it rolling But the car shifts really weird, like when its supposed to shift, it revs a little and then sluggishly shifts or just plain out runs like crap and its annoying, cause this is my car I plan on running at the local track frequently. The tranny came out of my 85 Camaro Berlinetta and was fine, I liked how it shifted, cause I had the Megashifter in the car and when I slammed it at 4200RPM, it shifted to the next gear by 4300RPM. Anyways, this is a real annoyance and I had a deal come up, I trade my 700R4 for a TH400 that is in real good condition, never raced, just was in a 71 Chevy Pickup.

What do you think, think I should give up on the 700R4 and put the TH400 in there, considering its more for racing than daily/highway driving. Also, today, I changed my tranny fluid and filter and put 3 quarts of B&M TrickShift and 2 1/2 quarts of Castrol tranny fluid. It works better, goes into gear better but it shifts real funky. Ive heard of TV cable adjusting but I have no clue what that is, I mean is the TV cable the kickdown cable and how do you adjust it??? I disconnected the kickdown cable and it still runs like crap. Motor is fine minus the small oil leak from the oil pan but its a strong running LG4, so its in the tranny and I would really appreciate the help, I know about the custom driveshaft that will need to be made but do you know of anyone that sells the TH400 Transmission mount/crossmember setup? Thanks.
