VSS gear change and a few LS1 rear questions
I'm going to put a 3.23 LS1 rear in my car this week. I'm going from 2.73s, so I'm definitely going to need to know how to adjust my VSS ('88 TA).
Also, the third gen DS does match up to the LS1 rear, right?
Are these *ANY* stronger than the 3rd gen 10 bolts?

Yes. It bolts right up.
No. strength is the same, at least as the later 28-spline 3rd gen rears. It is all but identical internally. The axles are merely 1-5/8" longer. It's possible that the carrier, being a different model, is a bit stronger; but it could also be weaker, I don't know. All the parts are the same size FWIW.

Aw damnit, more parts. Where can I get one of these boxes at, and are they adjustable for different gears in the future?

Buy the gears for an automatic 3.23 equipped third gen. All the hype about "adjusting my VSS" is just that. You won't save time, and you won't save money over doing the gears.
