TCC selnoid, manual switch, etc

Well, tomorrow i'm having my TCC selenoid replaced and was curious about somethings.

I hooked a test light to Terminal F on the ALDL port, then grounded the light, the bulb lit up. I then hit the brakes and the bulb went out. This would mean that everything electronically should be functioning as it should correct?

For a manual lockup switch, you connect a splice from terminal F(TCC) , and a splice from terminal A (Ground) to two connectors on the switch, when the switch is filled, it'll ground the connection forcing the TCC to engage and lock the convertor, am i correct on this also?

And one more, if a switch will simply ground out the terminal, would this be the same effect of having a paperclip between terminal A and F on the ALDL connector? The same way you'd read codes from the computer?

Thanks in advance.

If you want to do this, you would put a switch at the wire to pin "F" or somewhere in the wire that goes to it and then run a wire to a ground such as the chassis. You do not want to run a ground to pin "A" of the ALDL since that is the ECM ground and could cause problems.

Isn't pin A grounded to the chassis anyway?

No, it is grounded to the back of the right hand cylinder head.
