Hey everyone, my brother's firebird recently blew the tranny out of it (V8 T-5) and i was wondering if the spline and hub assembly off of the T-5 will work on the V6 T-5 the v6 tranny is from an 88 and the T-5 is from an 87. any help would be greatly appreciated? he isnt going to be racing the car just to cruise around in.

 

No. The tooth count on the transfer gear is different.

well i just put a t-5 in my 84 camaro and the t-5 i bought was out of a v6 all i had to do is attach the belhousing and it owrks fine??.... but i'm porbally worng

 

it will work but you need a new clutch disc, but i was wondering to avoid that if you could change the spline and hub, but i guess you cant....
