Ok so I have a 700r4 on a stock LG4 with 130k on them. Every once in a while while I am driving it'll bang when it shifts, or downshifts into first, or when I spin the tires.

Today I was spinning the tires a bit at all the uphill stop signs (dont laugh) and it started doing it again as the tires started/stopped spinning.

The 'bang' I am talking about here sounds a lot like someone lightly tapping the underside of the car with a hammer, right by the transmission. So I think it's the transmission mounts.. and I already checked the U joints, they're fine. What do you all think? tranny mounts?

Transmission mount is gone.

If you hear a "thud" when you get on the throttle, then it is the trans mount.

If you have the older "round" rubber mount, sometimes the outer casing wears out, but appears to be good. Put'er on a stand and then push up on the tail shaft of the transmission and you will see it part from the crossmember.

Jim.
