richmond 5 speed tranny from auto to manual
ok heres what i am doing, currently auto, i want manual along with my new engine, 355 zz4, i want to know if anyone has put in a richmond 5 speed into there car and had it work? would i fallow these directions? or would i need to modify something? https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/t...nualswap.shtml
please help me, i favor manual much over auto so i need to know what to do and what to buy, i want to get working on this in a few weeks.

well basicually i want to know what fits into my car before i go off and buy something and get screwed. jegs told me get a richmond. i want a t-56 but in my other posts im asking if it fits or not and thats what im waiting on so i dont know and i want to make sure im not getting screwed by buying the wrong things. i truly want a 6 speed and i will be racing any **** poor ***** that comes my way. true love to the v8 rear wheel.

plus its cheaper.
plus you know it fits easily.
read the sticky at the top of this forum, and do a search on "T56 install" you'll know all you need.
if you go the richmond route, you're basicly on your own.... i dont know another person taht has it.....

Yeah, I bet Jegs would love to sell you a Richmond--I'd like to have one, too, and twin turbos on an aluminum, all forged small block 427, C4 'Vette rear and a tubular K-member with rack and pinion steering--but reality sets in.
If you look through this "Transmissions and Drivetrain" category you'll find tons of information on trannies available for different applications, how hard they are to install and how much they cost. You can find a 5 speed parts car and do an all factory swap for cheap and get a fun to drive, dependable car, or you can buy the parts to do the same thing, or you can go for the T56 6 speed which requires more money and more monkeying with parts but gives you a bulletproof tranny with a super overdrive, or you can put in one of the 5 speeds that replace the factory 5 speed and have a much easier to install bulletproof tranny. Check it out.
Whatever you choose, you'll be happy you dumped the Suzy-Secretary automatic.
