im getting ready to do a 700r - th350 swap, i knoticed a hole in the side of the th350 tailshaft, and it has treads for a bolt to go next to it, i wasa wondering what goes here? the speedo? there nothing in it, will the 700r speedo gears work? please help im doin the swap asap, just got unemployed by the hurricane so i got some time on my hands.

 

When I did my swap, I had to find a different tailshaft housing that took my speedo sender, instead of the cable. I also had to install the gear from the 700 on the tailshaft itselfl. Pretty self explanitory once you pull the tailshaft off. Just dont bust the gear like I did, and have to track down a new one. I got the tailshaft housing and replacement gear, as well as universal kickdown cable from a transmission shop.

yes.. You just want to take the speedo cable and gears and install them in the 350 tailshaft.. you may have to use the tailshaft off the 700r4. good luck
