Speedometer cable leak on a T-5

Does anyone know if there is an o-ring or something that goes in that area where your speedometer screws in. Or is the bolt (screw thingy) that you tighten the speedometer cable up with supposed to tighten up and seal itself? Another thing does anyone know how to chase the threads on that piece that screws down? I think I might have some cross threading issues.

if you crossed threaded it i wouldnt waste my time, get a new one i've seen them on ebay for around 7 bucks, the 10mm screw comes out with a clamp, pull the speedo housing out, their is an o-ring on it, but in any case, yes the speedometer cable nut has to be tightened all the way or it will leak

Thanks 86z for your post. I guess I will replace it and see what happens.

there is the o-ring on the outside of the sleeve, and there is a seal on the inside against the gear. Could be either.
