I'm finally almost done with my car. Its an 83 firebird. I'm putting a 500+ hp SBC in it with a t-56. However, I'm worried about my rearend. I'm already in debt from building up the rest of the car so I can't afford a whole different one. I do however, have upgraded 28 spline axels instead of 26, an auburn posi and richmond 3.73 gears. I'm going to be running a 275 BFG radial. My question is, are the stronger axels going to help at all or is something gonna snap the second these tires hook? Is there anything else I can do to make the rearend stronger? Thanks.

axle isn't the weak link. weld the tubes to the center and run a girddle, suspose to give you 40% more strength.
