fit yes one way or another, work not without a boat load of work. drive shaft length is variable for less than 100 dollars. i'd worry more about clutch linkage and torque arms.

IS the tranny a borg warner or a saginaw? You must use a specific bellhousing that came on the 82-84 camaros and firechickens. The 4spd is mounted straight up as the 5 speeds are tilted at 17 degrees so you cant use a T-5 bell housing. Lakewood makes a bellousing PN 15020 that will allow you to use the hydraulic clutch setup or you will have to buy a mechanical setup. Hope this helps.

Lakewoods bellhousing for mechanical linkage cars ('82with 4 speeds/'83 5 speed) is part #15015.

if its a saginaw your current crossmember and driveshaft will work perfect.

but the tranny will blow up extremely easily. I went through two in a month in my wagon with about 330 hp

If its a Super T10, have fun finding a 32 spline th400 yoke for it (I've been scrounging for 6 months here now, no avail) and you'll need about an extra inch on the driveshaft to fit. I don't know how you're gonna fit either a slave or mechanical linkage, try scavenging an older car.

No-car-yet--so what kind of 4 speed is it? If you're running a 305 it'd be a lot easier to use a T5--cheaper in the end, too.
