700R4 busting flexplates?
Hello Sirs,
A few months ago I aquired an 86 Firebird for next to nothing.
The owner thought the crankshaft was broke and couldn't afford the work. After a little look around I determined it was a busted flexplate not a crank.
I ordered up a POS flexplate from ADI for $56 and slapped it in. In a couple hours(on my back) I was off and running. Bad part is now
two months later and less than 1000 miles I'm back with a busted flexplate.
Nothing looked out of wack when i put it back together except the rear tranny mount wasn't bolted on. I slapped some new bolts in the the day after I did the flex plate. Once I could put it up on the rack.
I havn't driven it "THAT HARD" or anything and it's all stock. I'm just not sure what to make of this problem.
Any info appreciated , THX
