TV cable slipped?
Today I was driving 25mph and accelerated lightly to 35, and noticed it hadnt shifted. Drove it around some more and it seemed it wouldnt shift out of 1st until 4000rpm, so I adjusted the T.V. Cable by pushing in that button on the side of the cable near the t-body, and slid the tube on its transmission side toward the front. Drove it around, shifted hard, so I adjusted it back a little, seems ok.
My question is, what could cause this to just happen all of the sudden, and will it happen again soon? Did this fix the problem?
Could there be other problems that I am missing?
Thanks.

Cold weather can affect the way a trans shifts, because at first the fluid is cold, and has different properties than warm fluid. Sounds like the beginnings of transmission failure. When you auto adjust the TV cable does it still have adjustment left, or is it maxed out? If it's maxed repalce the cable and see if the problem persits.
