9-bolt into a 4th gen ???

I was wondering if putting my 9-bolt rear end out of my 89 iroc-z would fit into my cousins 94 z28 because he said I could have the rear end off of his car because he is going to start parting it out but he still wants to have a rear on it so he can still move the car if he has to. Do you guys think that this is possible???

I have done a search already and it says nothing about putting a 9-bolt in a 4th gen. And i have the australian brakes if that helps.

What happened to the one in his car? The rear is to short. You would need to run either 3rd gen wheels or 4th gens with spacers. I am sure you could make the brakes work but they would be smaller and more inferior than what the 4th gens came with stock. I would just go to a yard and get what you need. 10 bolt rears are cheap. FYI This is not 3rd gen related and will be locked.

Actually, '89 to '97 rear brakes are all the same.

The above is correct, you can install it just to move the car around, but you'll need thirdgen rims on it. If you try to drive it, you'll set a SES light for the non-working ABS sensors in the rear.

Locked for non-thirdgen content.
