V6 700r Question ?

i have a 87 camaro v6 with 700 auto. when i go from a dead stop and the gas to the floor the car wont get out of its own way, but once up to speed it seems to shift fine. time to rebuild ? any thing i can check out ? i changed filter and fluid to no avail, old fluid didnt look real bad.

Are you sure it's a tranny problem? Sounds like a clogged exhaust converter, dirty air filter or fuel supply problem maybe?

tom not 100% sure. motor seems to run fine in park it will accelerate and sounds great. i have recently bought this car and went through all the basic tune up stuff. i also replaced the muffler because it was blown up. i also hollowed out the cat. any thing you can think of for me to check would be appriciated. thanks.also new plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil,o2 sensor, oil, filters, set timing, set tps, fuel pressure 45 psi.car also shakes a little when in drive and foot on brake.

Did you unhook the timing set connector wire when you set the timing? Did you have to change the timing much? This could cause some trouble. Fuel pressure at 45 sounds good and the hollowed cat eliminates that possibility.

yes timing was set properly. still not sure about tranny, in past experiences when tranny was slipping rpm's would rev up but car would not move. this is not doing that it seems like motor is bogged down. not much experience with these new injected, computer deals !
