Changing pinion seal???

Well I discovered I now have a realitivly small puddle of gear oil in my driveway and its leaking down from my torque arm. There is none on the back cover, it has to be the pinion seal. I know you need to take off the drive shaft, remove the nut and pull the yoke, screwdriver the seal out and put the new one on. But how do I put the pinion gear back in correctly? Any tricks of the trade because I know people do this crap without a feeler gauge.

Ive just put the yoke back in, with the washer, and tighten the nut. Mark the threads before you remove the nut. Also use a new nut, or stake the old one. It will loosen up.
