spline Q???
i'm sure this has probably been asked before but i have a stock 89 camaro V6 2.8 i am doing a V8 swap i need to know what the axle spline it is?

someone correct me if I am wrong, but you should have the standard 7.65" ring gear 10 bolt. that means you should have 28 spline axels

89 is the changeover year. If it was 88 back, it would certainly be 26 splines, assuming nobody has swapped the rear; if it was 90 up, you could be sure it had 28 splines, again if it hadn't been swapped; but being a 89, it could be either. You're going to just have to pull one and look. People that have been through this with 89s and posted about it, seem to have 26 splines about 75 or 80% of the time.

Personally I would assume it's 26 spline. There are very few 28 spline 1989's from the factory. Possibly only a few at the end of the production year.
As mentioned above, you will have the slightly larger 7-5/8" ring gear.
