diff swap

I have an 89 Formula with an open rear end that replaced the limited slip when funds were low. I want to replace it with another limited slip. What are my options?

Well, there's a few..... you could leave the one-legger in there, or maybe you could replace it again, for example. No doubt there are other options as well.

What model of rear is in it now? What gears? What brakes are on it? What kind of consition is it in? What do you want to do with the car? What's your budget this time around? All of those things would have an impact on what to do with it. Assuming of course, that out of all available options, you choose one other than leaving it like it is.

It is the open rear with 2.83? gears. It has drum brakes. I have thought about disc brakes, but I think the swap may be more complicated than I want to tackle. I have seen the spools that you can put in, but I don't know what's involved, and if it will work. Right now, all that is wrong with it is the seal on the left side of the axle is leaking and needs to be replaced. I am just curious about the replacement spools, mostly.
