using Fluid addatives?

does anyone use tranmission fluid additives such as Lucas or other brands? do any of these fluids help dissipate the heat or help the transmission from slipping? My transmission seems to be ok, but i was wondering if there is any benefit of adding some of that thicker addative that is suppose to prevent/lesson slips and problems...what is the common opinion about this?

Ive used Lucas in all of my auto's works great. I noticed better shifting and longer fluid life but I cant say it reduces heat although it may reduce bad friction enough to do so. Just service it the transmission while your doing it to get the full effect.

Fluid/Pan

Since i will have a shift kit installed this summer, and I'm going to do some more engine mods...i was thining I could use somehting like lucas just to help a bit with the tranny fluid b/c i don't have a cooler or anything liket that...i didn't think there was any harm in adding some of it to the fluid, but i just wanted to make sure...i was even thinking about getting on of the TCI cast aluminum pans that holds two more quarts of fluid to help disperse some of the heat...but I've heard that the pan sticks down more, so i'm concerned that it might be noticeable and it won't look good...

You can get a tranny fluid cooler cheaper than a cast pan. $50 you can ge the cooler and prolly the lines too.

A good cooler is almost a must have. I'd get a cooler on there preferably the biggest one you can fit. The B&M cooler Ive got on my Camaro is the "racing style" 11X8 x1-1/2 it works great as a stand alone unit. I dont have a shift kit in this trans but I have modified the accumulators and governer. I cant wait until temps top out over a hundred this summer so I can see how effective it really is.
