No SES codes, but error flags in ALDL

Been reviewing my ALDL dump and noticed some codes that are being set, but the SES light does not come on. Any inputs on what to do? I tried posting on another board, but no responses. I've been reading this board for a while for a different vehicle and noticed the knowledge level and I figured some individuals here had some very good analysis on other posts, so I thought I'ld try my luck. The vehicle is not a thirdgen, so...

A little history, 4l60E, the tranny has been rebuilt twice so far (not happy about that !). The manual says it should be a 4L80E, but the bolt pattern on the pan indicates a 4L60E. It does not shift nicely, almost like running with the clutch depressed(on a manual). I can step (not stomp) on the gas (while in motion) and the RPMs will go up 10K before the vehicle starts to respond. Every once in a while it shifts great, nice and hard, makes my kids giggle .

The whole reason I started looking at the ALDL is I kept stalling and had irregular idles. So I replaced a bunch of engine parts and finally decided to "look inside". I ended up replacing the O2 and readjusting fuel pressure, and it helped a bit, but I still have the behavior (low idle, stalling, poor acceleration). So, I started to write it off as NON-OEM pickup coil and ignition coil issues. But then I read a TBI->TPI swap post, and relooked at tranny possibilities since it always ran ... different, and the post had some observations on the VSS causing similar symptoms.

The ALDL dump consistantly gets an 85, 73, and 72 code (93 K1500, again I know it's not thirdgen ). I get 83,79,58,59 flashing on and off in the log, but pretty consistantly on. I also have the TCC Tranny VHOT flag always on.

I was thinking at a minimum replacing the VSS. I don't know if I should tear apart the tranny for the pressure sensors, since I have never worked on a tranny (except an entire replacement). Doesn't look too complicated from the manual's prespective, but...I don't really know if it will make a difference. I'm still hedging my bets on the other items: Ignition Coil, Pickup coil, Injectors, ECM.

Suggestions?

Check if someone disconnected or removed the bulb for the ses light to hide the fact the vehicle has problems.

The SES light works, it's just posting the codes mentioned. Not sure if these codes are critical or just - this is what's going on codes.

Thought I'ld post a little more info in hopes of getting some more info. It goes 1k not 10k before reacting and the code ids are below:
85- ratio undefined
72- output speedloss
73- forced motor current
83- qdm fault
79- tranny hot
58- tranny temp hot
59- tranny temp low
