T56 hydrolics and shifter
T56 hydrolics and shifter
I have my trans being shipped so I am trying to get all of the accessories that I need ready for the time when it arrives. So my question is where is the best place to pick up some new hydraulics (master and slave) for new trans? Anyone have better luck with different brands or shops? My second question is that I was looking at my t5 set up today and the shift **** sits very high like 5 or six inches will an aftermarket short shifter be to low for the 3rd gen set up? Any advice is much appreciated!

Best place to get the hydraulics is GM. You get the whole set: master cyl, slave sypl, stainless-braided line, and reservoir, pre-filled and PRE-BLED. That means, none of this "bleeding" crap you see other people dinking around with because they think air got in there somehow, or they actually did break it open somehow and let air in. One more bullet you can dodge.
There are several aftermarket shifters available for that trans. Any 4th gen one will work fine. I happen to have the Hurst Billet Plus on my T-56, in black, not chrome {puke}. It even accommodates the stock 3rd gen ****. You can't tell by looking in the interior that anything is different from stock. Looks PERFECT.
