You can call Auburn Gear direct and ask them, if it's an Auburn; I think you'll find you're SOL, just like GM is. www.auburngear.com
If it's an Eaton Gov-Lock, you'd be best off to throw it in the trash, or sell it to some "greater fool", than to spend even as much as the cost of a bottle of fluid to put it in your car.
You can get a helluvalot better carrier than any stock GM one for these cars, either from Eaton; or from Zexel. Only a moron would spend even as much as a tenth of that kind of money rebuilding a stock unit.
There's lots of things that are "cheaper". There's some that are less expensive too. You get what you pay for; or at least, no more than what you pay for. How little do you want to get?

SOL = s*** out of luck
All this "HP" business doesn't count for much, when the only people who would make the parts, don't. Call them in the morning, their phone # is on their website, and see what they have to say. That's if of course you have their product in the first place. If you have a Gov-Lock, don't waste your time on it, it won't survive on pavement with even that little power (6-cyl S trucls grenade them regularyl) and you'll hate it while it lasts.

I have an auburn unit. it's working fine, but with spirited driving, who knows how long that'll last. it's a great unit, but I'd like one that's rebuildable. spending money is ok, but if i spend $500 on a diff, i want it to be good, and rebuildable, so if it wers out, i can fix it. is there a diff that's worth a damn and rebuildable? or is this wishful thinking?
