Trans Problem / Possible bad TC?
So I had my car in storage and I pulled it out and put in a different TC, which is a 3000 stall and just started it up for the first time for the summer today.
I put fresh tranny fluid in the ole 700R4 and went to shift it... I didnt feel that jerk of it when it goes into gear, it didnt seem like it was going into gear at all... So I checked the fluid and added more... Then eventually I stared to be able to hear a little noise of it going into gear but all I could hear was a whinning and more when I gave it some gas... the car woudnt even move and it seems like the TC is just spinning. Do I have a bad Torque Converter?? Thanks a lot for your help guys its appriciated.

Are you sure the converter was seated all the way into the transmission? You should have had to pull the converter up to the flex plate to bolt it up. Make sure the trans fluid is topped off, go through the gears pausing in each one for a few seconds, check fluid again. Higher stall converters wont usually have that big jolt going into a gear while at idle. How high are you reving the engine to try and make the car move?

Need to be sure the spline count for your new verter is the same as the old one too. That would do that too and mess up the tranny input shaft and new verter if it is wrong.
