How long of a break in period for new rear end gears

How long of a break in period for new rear end gears

just as the subject says... how many miles do i need to put on the car to break in the new 3.73's properly? thanks guys

Should have come in the instructions...

Most of the mfrs say something like drive 10 miles at 40-55 mph; let them cool down for an hour or so; drive 10 more miles 50-65; let them cool down overnight; drive normally for a couple hundred miles; then they're ready to roll. The details vary, but the basic idea is the same, of heat-cycling them a couple of times right away, then gently bedding them in to each other.

i had a performance shop put them in for me, so i didnt get any instructions. when you say a couple hundred miles... you think 200 is ok? just curious... i'll do w/e i need to do to set them in the right way

200 is about bare minimum; 500 would be better.
