Need quick help on th350

I've had a th350 in my car for the last year and a half, and just recently ordered a new converter for it.

Now I'm worried I have one of the lock up converter transmissions...

The transmission is out of a 1979 chevy 1/2 ton truck, i got it for the long tailshaft, so i can re-use my driveshaft. I just heard that all the truck th350s were lock-up??? Which wont work with my new converter

Please someone help me clarify this

Edit... there are no wires or anything going into the transmission, its just got a vacume line. I dont know jack about lock-up transmissions, but if it was, shouldn't there be some type of wiring going into it, or at least some type of electric control? I removed it from the truck, and there were NO computer or wiring controls what-so-ever in the truck originally. Please tell me I'll be ok

sounds like you'll be fine. besides you can put in a non-lockup converter in the lock up trans from what i was told . although if there were no plugs on the side of the trans like a 700R4 has then i wouldn't worry about it.

also no such thing as a lockup trans in 79, i believe it started 80 or 81.

Alright, no wires = no lock up

Good to hear!

TH350C has a machined pilot with o-ring groove on the input shaft and different length stator. The converters won't interchange. A lockup converter has a raised circular area
on the front where the clutch is located.
