TV Cable?
I just got done putting a TransGo shiftkit in my car got it all back together and found a problem. I cant adjust my TV cable because its like the thing is too short now. I dont know whats going on at this point that Im going to have to pull the pan back down and see whats going on. I was just wondering if anyone else has run into any probems with this kit like this and I missed something stupid or something, or maybe the TV cable has to be swapped out now or something. I am just getting frustrated with this thing because it fought me every step of the way coming out of the car and going back in so any help would be highly appriciated here.
Thanks,
Travis (Meridius)

I dont have the pan on, its like the cable is too short. I have taken the TV paddle back off three times now and it doesnt seem bent or anything like that. I dont understand what is going on, Im begining to wonder of the outter part of the cable got streatched or something when the trans was coming out. Im ordering a new cable tomorrow and probably put it on thursday when it comes in. If the3 stock replacement doesnt work Im going to get a universal one and make it work, Im tired of messing with this thing already.

Get an OEM GM cable for the repalcement. They are worht the couple extra bucks over the parts store variety.
Too short is a strange problem. When they stretch typically they are too long. Are you sure the link rod is installed the right direction? It should point up, and can be pulled out of the trans case with a pair of needle nose pliers so you can connect the cable end.

yeah the linkage insde the trans is correct, I even got a GM service manual out for the 700R to make sure of it. I think what happened now is when we we removing the trans I had unhooked the topside but didnt take it free from the bracket and then the guy that was helping me started to lower the trans a little before it was unhooked from the trans and he streatched the outer housing. I took the cable off and looked at it and sat it didnt look quite right at the throttle body end so I ordered a new cable today through my parts department so it will be there tomorrow around lunch time when the GM parts truck shows up. I hope to have this going tomorrow eavening so I can play with it a little before I take it to the track Friday night.

ok got the new cable on and it was the problem, however now I cant seem to get it quite right on adjustment. I will push the detent in and put the cable the whole way back in and then get in the car and smash the gas to the floor so it self adjusts. Then I take it out and drive it and it seems to hit second gear too soon like I am more into the throttle than I really am. Ill take it back and move the cable back the the back of the car about two notches, sometimes three and take it out and its great. Then I smash the gas to try it under full throttle and it comes back out those couple clicks I put it back in to make it right for just cruising. I am thinking about getting a universal cable and put it on so I can adjust it where I want it and let it go. I have it adjusted right now back a click or two from the full throttle adjustment so it does better for cruising and anything up to full throttle without putting it into the floor board. If anyone has any ideas on how to keep it where its at right now and not make it come back out those couple clicks when I smash it that would be great.
