What stall torque conveter?

I have an older 700r4 that was originally a 27 spline, I am replacing the 27 spline with a 30 and want to throw in a b&m torque converter. The car has a 305 tpi, and will have headers, rear end is a 95 posi 3.73. The car will be a daily driver. 1900-2000 stall or 2300-2500? Also with that small of an engine will I even hit those stall speeds? Anyone? Thanks.

you have to choose the stall according to your powerband

You may want to consider a corvette or S-10 converter. Around 2000-2200 stall w/lockup and may be less than the B&M. With your higher rear end you'll be fine around 2000-2200. A 2500 stall may be a little loose for a daily driver, but it's really a matter of personal preference when your et isn't as important as driving around town.

What do you mean about alittle loose? Isn't the tpi powerband around 2500 or so? If i go with a 2200-2500 will the car not pull of the line until between 2200-2500? Let me know, Thanks.

If you're looking for max performance, go with the looser converter. It's just that the lag when part throttling around town can be annoying sometimes and can decrease your mileage. With your higher rearend you'll probably be fine with the smaller converter, though.
