T56 swap questions
T56 swap questions
I have an 88 Firebird that I am planning on changing what ever I can think of pretty much just b/c I want to build another car and change as much as possible. the car right now is setup for a 700R4 and I want to convert it to man. can I simply use all 3rd gen man parts such as pedals, slave cylinder etc for this T56 swap ?? I am not really up on the 4th gen cars so I assume the T56 is in the 4th gen cars and is the 6 speed setup which is what I want. BASICALLY WHAT DO I NEED FOR THIS SETUP WHEN STARTING FROM SCRATCH ???

If you're going from auto to 6-speed, just grab everything out of the 6-speed car. The pedals from a 3rd gen will work, if you get those, just get the hydraulics from the 4th gen car. When I did the swap, I used 4th gen pedals and all on mine, which I had to swap the gas pedal as well, since the 4th gen cars have the gas pedal attached.
