Does it happen in reverse?
Are the the gears still shifting fine when you don't apply too much power?
If it does then jack up the car and take a look at it. It's a block of rubber between the tranny and crossmember, pretty easy to tell if it's messed up

I've had 15, give or take a couple of real scrappers, of these 3rd gen firebirds and ALL of them have had a broken trans mount. Buy an aftermarket poly mount, and you'll forget all about it. They don't even cost that much anymore, like twenty bucks or so.
