Iron Duke gearing

I'm thinking about getting back in to the f-bodys again. I want to get a camaro with the Iron Duke in it. It would be neat to have and get good gas mileage. But from what I read in other post is your 90 year old grandma can out run you from a stop in her powered scooter. lol. So what I was thinking is what if we can mutiple the torque with gearing to get the car to move off the line a little faster. I'm not talking about 1/4 mile times and what not. I talking about being able to pull out in traffic and not having to worry about people smashing into the back of you, because you can't accelerate fast enough. So from what I heard is a v8 tranny will bolt up to the 4 cylinder motor. If so. I was thinking of putting the t56 tranny in there and then swap the rear gears to somthing along 4.10's or 4.22's. From what I can tell is the first gear in the tranny along with the stepper gears in the rearend should make the car faster from a stop. Then since the double overdrive in the t56 gives you a .50 in the 6th gear. It will still alow you to run on the highway at a good rpm for the gas mileage. I don't really know how to run the numbers to check and make sure that this will work like I think it will. So I need someone that knows what there doing. So what do you guys think about it. I think it would be a good upgrade to make the car move a little quicker. Anyways. Let me know what you guys think about this. Thanks in advance! Adam :-)
